Official Biography

Beverley Eikli is an internationally published author, university lecturer, and publishing consultant who operates under three distinct brands. This diverse portfolio allows her to explore a wide range of stories and professional services.

As Beverley Oakley, she pens passionate and complex historical romances, from Regency comedies to gothic Victorian mysteries.

As B. G. Nettelton (her maiden name), she writes the acclaimed Wings Over Africa series—thrilling romantic suspense set in her native Southern Africa.

Under her legal name, Beverley Eikli, she draws on over fifteen years of professional experience to teach creative writing and offer publishing services to aspiring authors.

Her fiction is deeply informed by her own life experiences. The B. G. Nettelton adventures are inspired by her time as a safari hostess in Botswana and the discovery of her grandfather's colonial-era diaries. Her passion for history and complex human drama, meanwhile, breathes life into her popular Beverley Oakley romances.

Across all brands, Beverley has published over 45 books, now available in 7 languages. Her expertise is grounded in a long career as a journalist, editor, and a long-standing lecturer in Creative Writing at the Melbourne Centre of Adult Education, and Victoria University. She is a sought-after speaker on topics ranging from creative writing and publishing to the history of Southern Africa.

Beverley is now happily grounded in Melbourne, alongside the same handsome Norwegian bush pilot who flew her on the adventure of a lifetime around the world, and their gorgeous Rhodesian Ridgeback.

An avid knitter, Beverley also makes historical costumes and corsetry, weaving the threads of history into both her stories and stitches.
