I had so much fun writing Fortune Favors the Frivolous—a playful departure from the more serious historicals I’ve been immersed in lately. At every turn, I had to spin lightness from a fairly dark situation.
I mean, who enjoys being kidnapped by a truly villainous viscount? And what heroine wants to find herself locked in a horse stall, dressed as a stable boy, watching the man she loves gallop off with her best friend because there’s only space for one on his horse—worse, he thinks she’s actually a stable boy and not the woman he (secretly) loves!
There’s a lot of adventure in this switched-identities caper—a favourite trope of mine. (It may hark back to childhood, when I was forever commandeering neighbourhood plays and musicals.) For those who’ve read the book already, I hope it gave you a good laugh and a swoon or two—and that you’re excited for the third and final book, where not one but two couples get their happy ever afters.

What it’s about
